The Gaza Strip between Old Tragedies and New Strategies

20/08/14

Never before this summer 2014 political instability seems to dominate the international scenario. If Ukraine and Iraq are involved in regional warfare events, Syria and Lebanon cannot be said to be less, but the greater media resonance always falls, however and inexorably, over the so-called Gaza Strip.

The strip of land disputed by Israelis and Arabs is becoming the ideal scenario for tragedies for use and consumption by an increasingly nauseated public.

From the 2001, almost annually, Israelis and Palestinians confront each other on beautiful cases that create ever-equal yet never resolutive clashes, as if the parties were aware of the fact that the respective enemy, besides being a reason for death, is ontologically necessary to his own existence.

In this latest crisis, a new and significant element is added, we could call it the NWO (new world order) of the Middle East.

The Arab part of the conflict, the Palestinians for instance, has lost the African side, a fundamental support for its action and at the same time a sure ally to take refuge to write more and more unstable, but necessary peace agreements.

The Arab springs of the 2011 have made pork meat [ipse dixit] of the pan-Arab regimes resulting from the decolonization that took place in the second half of the last century and this has led to an imbalance throughout the board, in short, the necessary political and potential counterweight has been lacking. military represented respectively by Musharraf, Gheddafi and Assad who, although not officially allies, represented a strong legacy of the Arab-Israeli opposition characteristic of the '70s and' 80s of the '900, moreover the countries mentioned have always been suppliers of logistic supports and politicians for numerous fighters loyal to the Palestinian cause, one for all the Egyptian Arafat.

Returning to the main reasoning, this umpteenth tug-of-war can certainly be said to be a child of consolidated factors such as the atavistic and politically driven conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people, however it presents new elements, since it is not supported, at least in an official and massive way on the Palestinian side, from any Arab country, since these are too busy in internal quarrels, it is not exploited on average by any Bin-Laden 2.0 (Al Baghdadi nda), since the themes of the universal caliphate seem to make more hold on the new levers of matrix terror Islamist also sees new strategies on both sides, in terms of maintaining the level of tension, for which hitting a school or pub weakens public opinion, but accentuates conflict by preventing any kind of negotiation, since the war constantly enters the homes of civilians.

The cycle of Israeli operations is likely to go hand in hand with the launch of rockets by the armed Hamas fringe, while a sleepy and holiday-oriented West, in moral and economic crisis will continue in its role as a stone guest, at least until the parties do not they will see a natural decay of the vis belles finalized to prepare a new exploit of conflict in a circular repetition that seems to feed on itself, but that actually sees exogenous factors intervening so that the area remains permanently unstable.
