The Russian Ministry of Defense publishes videos of "successful attacks" against the Ukrainian Army in the direction of Kursk. However, as demonstrated by the comparison of these videos with others published previously, they are recycled videos dating back to a long time ago and shot elsewhere.
The Russian Ministry of Defense released these videos with the propaganda intent of testifying to the successes of the Russian army along the Kursk route in the battles against Ukrainian troops. On August 10, the RIA Novosti news agency, citing the Ministry of Defense, published a video which the Kremlin intended to document how "Russian Mi-28NM helicopters are attacking soldiers and armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the border area of the Kursk region" with S-13 missiles. In reality, the one released is a video shot in Kreminna and Khasiv Yar a long time ago.
The previous day, August 9, the Russian Ministry of Defense published a second video illustrating the alleged new attacks by the Russian army against the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Sumy region (bottom photo).
“The crew of the Su-34 supersonic fighter-bomber of the Aerospace Forces struck the massing of servicemen and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the identified point of temporary deployment in one of the districts of the Sumy region, bordering the Kursk region. The attack on the reconnaissance targets was carried out by an FAB-3000 aerial bomb with a universal planning and correction module. After receiving intelligence confirmation of the destruction of the targets, the crew returned safely to the airfield starting", we read in the video description.
However, this video was also shot a long time ago, and was already published by the TASS Agency on July 14.
The FAB-3000 bombs, called "idiot bombs" by the Anglo-Saxons, are devices of Soviet origin with devastating power but poor technology to which an UMPK kit has been applied for guidance and gliding flight favored by ailerons and inertial navigation systems and satellite. Not very precise but capable of flying over enemy lines and hitting more distant targets, avoiding unnecessary risks for Russian fighter-bombers always in the sights of defense systems Patriot o SAMP / T.
The offensive of the Ukrainian army on the Kursk region began on the morning of August 6. On August 9, photographic confirmations of the presence of the Ukrainian army in the center of the Sudzha district appeared. Even the authors of the pro-Russian channel 2“Dva Maiora” note that it will not be possible to remove the Ukrainian military from the Kursk region "in half a day" because the position has already been set and the organization of supply is being organized .
Independent Russian correspondent Yuri Kotenok says that units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after regrouping resumed assaults on the Korenevo district center with the support of armored vehicles. He acknowledges the presence of the Ukrainian army in Snagosty, Olhavka and Mirny, and writes about the battles for Martynovka. A different picture than that proposed by the official Moscow press organs.
