The plans of the Israeli defense for the 2014: ... para bellum

With a perfect timing to say the least, Israel responds to the Russian government by explaining its Defense plans for the current year.

According to the head of the Israel Air Force, the offensive capabilities of the Israeli army will quadruple this year. In just one day - said Major General Amir Eshel - we will be able to hit thousands of targets, greatly improving the already superb IDF capabilities.

The plans were announced during the 10th annual national security conference and the contribution of air power in Israel's strategic capabilities.

According to Tel Aviv, the IDF's offensive and defensive abilities are second only to those of the United States, considering the technology available.

The Israel Air Force will achieve the ability to strike with precision weapons around a thousand different targets in a single day.

Attack capacity has been doubled in the last two years. By 2014 Israel will improve its offensive capabilities by 400%.

The Israeli air force, at the end of the 2014, in less than 24 hours, could hit the same goals reached in three days during the second Lebanon war or destroy in 12 hours the targets eliminated in a week during the operation Pillar of Defense .

Israel (history teaches) could not support a war of attrition, which is why all resources are used to have a strength that can enable them to win quickly with maximum effectiveness and absolute precision.

The Israeli army chief of staff, Lieutenant General Benny Gantz, then described the threats that Israel will face in the near future.

According to Gantz, the Israeli army could be forced to fight against everything: from missiles to computer attacks that could paralyze Israel's infrastructure.

But after examining a series of doomsday scenarios, General Gantz concluded his speech with a message of hope and optimism: "We are strong enough to face every challenge, imaginable and unimaginable."

But what would the current technologies be for Israelis?

It is precisely the IDF that answers our demand with five of the best technologies currently used.

1) The Super Simulator: The new simulator of the Israel Air Force recreates flight missions with unprecedented precision.

To date, it is the best simulator in the world, capable of generating realistic images of enemy capabilities. The simulator can also manage up to eight fighter pilots, allowing different types of fights.

The new simulator allows pilots and navigators to carry out more missions, increasing their operational strength.

2) Mid-Flight Refueling: Last October, on a long-range mission, fighter squadrons from the Israel Air Force were refueled in flight.

The technological maneuver allows them to fly for an indefinite time. At any time, the IDF has the strength to perform any necessary operations.

3) The Trophy System: Despite their armor, traditional tanks are vulnerable to anti-tank guided missiles, such as rocket-propelled grenades. These guided missiles can penetrate even the thickest armor, endangering crew members.

To defend armored vehicles from anti-tank threats, the Israeli Defense Ministry and Rafael Defense Systems have developed the Trophy system. The Trophy system creates a protective dome. It consists of an ADS system, a computer capable of tracing the route of the anti-tank missile and an automated cannon. The whole system protects the vehicle from multiple attacks. The missile is intercepted by propagating the explosion outward, minimizing collateral damage to the tank crew.

4) Cyber Warfare and Virtual Reality: The devices for "augmented reality" provide information on the physical characteristics of objects in the field. The “Lotem” department, a division of the IDF, guarantees Israel a constant technological advantage over its enemies. The unit is expanding Israel's cyber defense capabilities, protecting communications, management and control systems from enemy hackers. A few months ago, the IDF created a division dedicated exclusively to Cyber Defense.

5) The Skylark: The Skylark drone is small, light and practically imperceptible to radar. It is light enough for one person to carry and can be ready to fly in under eight minutes. It has an autonomy of three hours and can fly in all weather conditions.
