The exercise took place in the military complex of the "Babini" barracks in Bellinzago Novarese (NO) "Hot Winter - Display Determination 2024" in which the territorial unit "Primo" of the military corps of the Order of Malta Italy also participated, integrated by personnel from the command department and the territorial units of Emilia Romagna, Puglia, Tuscany and Sicily.

The activity, which was carried out in collaboration with other prestigious Army units, such as the 3rd "Milan" Health Department, the Transit Area Management Regiment "RSOM", the Cavalry Regiment "Nizza" (1st) and the Army Aviation, saw the deployment of the Role 2 Basic (light), under the "Primo" unit, in a scenario that envisaged the intervention of a military device in the context of a peace support and relief operation in favour of a friendly nation hit by hostile activity.

Il Role 2 B, integrated with the recently acquired surgical module, has aroused considerable interest from the other entities involved due to its functional characteristics and agility of maneuver, the result of the design and professionalism expressed by the men of the "Primo".

The field activity was divided into four phases: after the set-up, a training phase was carried out for all participants in the operations, covering topics such as CBRN, tactical medicine, air rescue and air transport and management and coordination of the field structure, aimed at better preparation for the next phase, namely the simulation of activities. The exercise phase was divided into three scenarios that took place in parallel, "stressing" the management and intervention capacity of the entire device, namely: the rescue of a convoy victim of an attack by a hostile force, the assistance and logistical support to a civil protection activity carried out in collaboration with the Italian relief corps of the Order of Malta (CISOM) who reached the camp during the activity and joined the operations, and finally the protection of a border from the arrival of a mass of wounded-contaminated people who were rescued after filtering and decontamination activities.

To enrich the operations, offering further training opportunities for the participants, there was the contribution of the helicopter of the 34th "Toro" of the Friuli airmobile brigade by means of which the "MEDEVAC" activities were carried out and the APOD made available by the "RSOM", a field airport structure, for whose transit the "STRATEVAC" activities were carried out, both aimed at the transfer of the treated and stabilized patients in the Role 2 B.

The exercise was also an opportunity for the Corps' soldiers to learn about and familiarize themselves with the rescue vehicles supplied to the Armed Forces and in particular to the 3rd REPASAN, such as ambulances. Lynx ed Bear which allow the protected evacuation of the wounded in the areas of operations. Finally, providing tactical support to the activities on the field were the light armored vehicles - Puma of the "Nice".

The activity, which for the first time saw the participation of a complete set of Military Corps of the Order of Malta Italy, with other armed forces entities on such a large scale, has demonstrated the possibility of operating admirably within the scope of the assigned institutional role: support for military health which for the men of the Corps can only find the declination of assistance to the most needy in any condition.
