La Bomber Task Force Europe, a rotary deployment of heavy bombers from the United States to Europe, is currently operational and flying missions from RAF Fairford in England.
During these missions, bomber pilots and crews train to transit European airspace and perform simulated combat tasks, such as close air support.
During the flight, they are escorted by fighters from NATO allies, which gives them the opportunity to practice communication and coordination with smaller aircraft.
