Boeing has revised the timing for the conclusion of production of the C-17 Globemaster III and the closure of the final assembly plant in Long Beach, California. This occurs after a cycle that lasted twenty years.
Based on current market trends and backlog, the C-17 line is expected to close in mid-2015, three months ahead of previous estimates.
The company had already announced its intention to end production last September.
