Yesterday Selex ES officially opened a new £ 10 million headquarters in Southampton. The new facility, which employs about 530 people, has brought together three pre-existing plants in one place.
Southampton has been home, for Selex ES - Finmeccanica, of a center of excellence for infrared sensors for over 50 years. With the opening of the new headquarters, the city now aims to host some reference centers for communications and air traffic management.
The new set-up resulted in the transfer of over 250 highly qualified employees from Christchurch and 50 from Portsmouth.
