The 28th edition of the Defense Services Asia (DSA) 2022 at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC) of Kuala Lumpur. Furthermore, the 2nd edition of the National Security Asia (NATSEC), exhibition dedicated to security.
The DSA is one of the leading defense exhibits in East Asia. There was an “Italy” pavilion sponsored by ICE, the agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies, an organization through which the government favors the consolidation and economic-commercial development of our companies on foreign markets.
With a dynamic, motivated and modern organization and a widespread network of offices abroad, ICE carries out information, assistance, consultancy, promotion and training activities for small and medium-sized Italian enterprises. Through modern multi-channel promotion and communication tools, it acts to affirm the excellence of Made in Italy in the world.
There were 20 national companies with their own stands such as Beretta, Ediconsult Internazionale Srl, Ferretti Security Division, Fincantieri and Iveco Defense Vehicles Leonardo and Elettronica.
Due to the high level of participation, the event represented an excellent opportunity to hold bilateral meetings with the main Malaysian defense authorities and with representatives of the Vietnamese delegation.
The international exhibition took place in the brand new 38.000 m1170 facility in Kuala Lumpur and included 44 exhibitors and numerous military and civilian delegations representing approximately XNUMX countries.
The national institutions were represented by the Italian ambassador to Malaysia, Massimo Rustico, the Deputy Secretary General of Defense and Deputy National Director of Armaments, team admiral Dario Giacomin.
Immediately after theOpening ceremony Ambassador Massimo Rustico and Admiral Giacomin visited the national exhibiting companies as a sign of closeness and institutional appreciation towards them.
In the exhibition area, in order to collaborate in joint business opportunities with Malaysian and international realities, the most advanced technologies in the defense and security field were exhibited, such as systems for the protection and management of operations on aerial and maritime platforms, war electronics, sensors, ballistic protection systems that attest to the high technological value of the Italian industry. Furthermore, the foundations have been laid for the promotion of greater cooperation and collaboration in the pursuit of common objectives for the countries of the East Asian area through the exhibitions of technological solutions, in the Italian Pavilion, of some industrial excellence related to defense and security necessary to meet the most stringent requirements and strengthen the confidence that participating countries have in the technology exhibited in the DSA exhibition, recognized as a global market and gateway to the Asian world.
The show also allowed the holding of important institutional meetings with the highest Malaysian civil and military authorities, such as those that Admiral Giacomin had during the days of participation, such as the Minister of Defense, YB Dato 'Seri Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein , the Minister of Internal Affairs, YB Dato 'Seri Hamzah Bin Zainudin, the secretary general and national director of armaments, the head of the Armed Forces, the head of the Navy, useful to deepen some themes of mutual interest and consolidate the relationship of growing friendship and proximity between the two countries.
During the exhibition, IVECO signed a contract with the Malaysian company DEFTECH for the maintenance support of the 132 trucks euro Cargo recently acquired by the Ministry of Defense.
