A delegation of Segredifesa, chaired by the general of the army corps Luciano Portolano, general secretary of defense and national director of armaments, participated in the Farnborough International Airshow 2022 (FIA2022) in the United Kingdom. The salon, held inInternational Exhibition & Conference Center, counted the presence of over 1500 exhibitors and numerous military and civilian delegations representing over 96 countries.
General Portolano held important and fruitful institutional meetings with the civil and military authorities and with some international delegations present at FIA2022. Furthermore, the occasion was propitious to visit the national exhibiting companies, to testify the proximity and appreciation of the institutions to our industries in the aerospace, defense and security sector and to provide due support to the many activities that the Italian industries of the sector have achieved over time and to those of possible future development.
Italy participated with large industries in the sector, but also with small and medium-sized enterprises grouped in regional clusters such as Campania, Umbria, Piedmont, Lazio, Puglia and Lombardy which they offered to the observers present, the development of systems with a highly relevant technological objective, diversified in every sector and level of the aerospace industry.
Small and Medium Enterprises and large Italian industries in the defense sector are in fact conducting interesting research and development programs in the specific sector, where possible intergovernmental agreements, the acquisition of a new technology of potential global interest, international cooperation in a sector of strategic importance at institutional and industrial level, could lead to objectives with even higher productive connotations.
Il Farnborough International Airshow is the global platform for the aerospace and defense industry and today represents a strategic opportunity to observe the technological development that has taken place in recent times, where to exhibit innovation globally and observe industry trends, experience technology at the avant-garde with a showcase of flying and static displays.
