Il Bundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr (BAAINBw) has ordered Rheinmetall to deliver (up to) 120 rescue stations for the Bundeswehr. The order will be placed in January 2025 and will be valued in the high tens of millions of euros. The first ten ballistic-protected units and six unprotected units are scheduled for delivery between 2025 and 2027.
The contract also includes an option for an additional 104 systems, both armored and unarmored, as well as specific training for the personnel assigned to them. These highly mobile aid stations will be used by the Bundeswehr Medical Service to provide internal surgical and emergency care to the armed forces. If necessary, the systems can be assembled and dismantled in the shortest possible time.
Each system includes an air conditioning unit, a power generator and an emergency surgery container equipped with state-of-the-art medical instruments. The aid stations are part of the Bundeswehr's Modular Medical Facilities (MSE) system.
