MBDA first launched an MMP missile from a remote controlled (IMPACT) turret mounted on a 4x4 land vehicle.
The demonstration was the third scenario of the MMP's fire campaign, conducted at the Canjuers military camp in southern France, and took place with the support of the French army and the Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA - French Procurement Agency).
Carried out in "fire and forget" mode, the launch engaged a target simulating another armored vehicle some 3.500 meters away.
Finished with a direct hit, the shot would confirm the accuracy of aiming and target tracking at long range from the turret, as well as the quality and reliability of the guidance system.
