Operating the first HH-101A "CAESAR" of the AM for recovery, rescue and special operations

Finmeccanica and the Italian Air Force celebrated today the full operation of the first AgustaWestland AW101 helicopter acquired by the Armed Forces, during an official ceremony held at the Cervia base (Ravenna) in the presence of the Air Force Chief of Staff Pasquale Preziosa aerial team general and numerous international delegations.

To date, the aircraft already delivered are the 4 helicopters division of Finmeccanica from the Yeovil assembly line (United Kingdom). The HH-101A "CAESAR", configuration of the AW101 reserved for the Italian Air Force, will be used for personal recovery tasks, operations with special forces and other roles in support of the population, such as search and rescue, medical evacuation and security missions, such as the contrast of low-performance, potentially dangerous aircraft.
