Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland has signed a contract for the sale of ten AW189 commercial helicopters to RN-Aircraft, a subsidiary of oil operator Rosneft. The contract, worth approximately 160 million euros, provides for the new helicopters to be used for transport tasks.

The delivery of the machines is expected between 2015 and 2017. Furthermore, as foreseen by the framework agreement signed in December 2014 and with the involvement of Russian Helicopters, a company of the Rostec Group, Rosneft plans to acquire additional helicopters, by 2025, until to a total of 160 units.

On the occasion of the signing of the order, an agreement was also signed which provides for a gradual reorganization of the HeliVert joint venture, today equal to Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland and the Russian Helicopters helicopter company, with the future entry of Rosneft with a 30% stake. Consequently, the shares in HeliVert will be distributed as follows: 40% for Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland, 30% for Russian Helicopters and 30% for Rosneft.
