New international order for the C-27J

(To Finmeccanica)
23/09/15

New order for two C-27J tactical transport aircraft from an air force on the African continent. The contract also includes a logistical support package.
The two aircraft produced by Finmeccanica - Alenia Aermacchi will be delivered starting from 2017 and will operate in support of personnel and material transport and civil protection operations, also landing on semi-prepared runways.
The C-27J has already demonstrated, in the course of numerous operations conducted in Afghanistan by three air forces - the Lithuanian, the Italian and the United States - and in the Sub-Sahara by the Chadian Air Force, to be able to facing the most complex operating conditions for an aircraft of this category.
After those of Morocco and Chad, this is the third order for the aircraft in the African continent, testifying to the fact that the C-27J is considered the optimal choice for those air forces that have particularly complex requirements and operate in difficult environments, thanks to sturdiness, maneuverability on the ground and in flight, load capacity and to operate on any type of surface even with particularly high temperatures.

The C-27J has already been ordered by the Italian, Greek, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Moroccan Air Forces, the United States, Mexico, Australia, Chad, Peru and the Slovak Republic, for a total of 82 aircraft of which 67 already delivered.
