MBDA and MILTECH have signed a research and development contract in the field of new infrared stealth materials for military applications, in collaboration with the University of Patras. This contract is part of the FDI HN (Defense and Intervention Frigates for the Hellenic Navy) associated cooperation program and supports European efforts towards independence in the defense industrial base.

Eric Béranger, CEO of MBDA, said: “The contract we signed today with MILTECH is a perfect example of how we support innovation and cooperation at MBDA. By moving forward in the search for deeply innovative and disruptive technologies, we have also strengthened in the long term the historic partnership we have built with Greece ".

MBDA has been supporting the Greek air forces on land, sea and air for over 25 years, which has enabled the creation of numerous partnerships with Greek defense companies, as well as the identification of particular expertise in various advanced technologies.

This is why MBDA has entered into advanced negotiations with several companies (INTRACOM, AKMON, ELFON, TEMMA, DASYC, SSA, HAI and MEVACO) to initiate industrial cooperation projects, including the transfer of skills, for the benefit of the Greek armed forces. .

The purpose of these cooperation programs, coupled with contracts such as the supply of missile systems to FDI HN frigates, is to directly integrate selected Greek companies into MBDA's supply chain. In this way they can benefit from the opportunities that future international contracts represent in the long term.
