Leonardo closed 2024 with very solid results, exceeding or in line with forecasts. Orders reached 20,9 billion euros, up 12,2% compared to 2023 (Proforma data), thanks above all to defense and security electronics, helicopters and cyber security. Revenues increased by 11,1%, reaching 17,8 billion euros, a sign of constant growth in the main operating sectors.

Profitability also improved: EBITA reached 1,525 billion euros, an increase of 12,9%, while free operating cash flow rose by 26,7% to 826 million euros. A particularly positive figure is the reduction in net debt, which fell by 22,7% to 1,795 billion euros.

From an industrial point of view, the defense and security segment is confirmed as the best performing, with a constant growth in orders and profitability, especially in the electronic component. Helicopters also recorded a positive year, with an increase in deliveries and revenues. In the aerostructures sector, however, some difficulties persist, linked in particular to delays in the production of the Boeing 787.

Leonardo also continued its commitment to sustainability, improving environmental and social parameters. Hiring of young people and women increased, with particular attention to graduates in STEM disciplines, while CO₂ emissions fell by 18,3%. Investments in research and development also grew, exceeding 2,49 billion euros, equal to 14% of revenues.

Finally, the order portfolio has exceeded the threshold of 44 billion euros, guaranteeing production coverage for over two and a half years. The new industrial plan, which will define the strategies for the future, will be officially presented on March 11, 2025.
