Leonardo-Finmeccanica and the Chinese company Sino-US Intercontinental Helicopter Investment announced today the signing of a contract for 30 helicopters including the AgustaWestland AW139 and AW169 models. The Sino-US aircraft, destined for helicopter rescue tasks, will be delivered during the 2017 and used by its parent Kingwing General Aviation.

With this contract, Leonardo's presence in China is further strengthened with more than 180 helicopters ordered by Chinese customers to date. The 2016 is also confirmed as a record year, with more than 20 helicopters delivered in the country. The order follows another contract signed by Sino-US at the beginning of the 2016 for 25 AW119Kx helicopters that paved the way for the creation of the largest helicopter rescue service nationally in China.

Sino-US Intercontinental has so far placed orders for more than 80 helicopters including AW119Kx, GrandNew, AW169, AW139 and AW189. The helicopter fleet also benefits from the growth of support services and has recently seen the opening of an important spare parts supply facility in Shanghai.
