The Temporary Business Grouping (RTI) led by Leonardo-Finmeccanica was awarded the tender for the supply of Digital Security and Security services to the Public Administration through Consip, the national central purchasing body of the Italian Public Administration.

The total amount of the supply is 600 million. The share of Leonardo, an RTI agent including IBM Italy and Fastweb, amounts to approximately 250 million.

"We are extremely satisfied to have been selected to accompany the Public Administration in the transformation process envisaged by the Italian Digital Agenda and by the Government's Digital Growth Strategy document. The role of Leonardo will be central to all phases of the project, given the key role of the security component in transactions with the Public Administration, guaranteeing the integrity and authenticity of the data. Our success is based on the continuous development of strong skills in cyber security services and on the significant experiences gained in the management of applications and services for the Public Administration", Declared Mauro Moretti, CEO and General Manager of Leonardo-Finmeccanica.

The award refers to Lot 2 of the framework agreement, subdivided into 4 Lotti, relating to cloud computing, security, portals and online services and application cooperation services for Public Administrations (PA). The supply of the Lotto 2 relates to the "Digital identity and application security services", divided into two activity blocks.

In detail, a block consists of services for the prevention and management of IT incidents and for the analysis of vulnerabilities of the hardware and software components of the information systems of the Public Administration, applicable both to centralized and shared cloud environments and to individual administrations. A second block provides a wide range of services and tools to support the management of digital identities for the PA, including signature and electronic stamp for validation, storage, guarantee of compliance and legal validity of electronic documents and digital copy.

The services can be provided centrally or in the offices of the administrations that will subscribe them based on the type of service and the choices of the different PAs; the agreement represents a significant step towards the standardization and harmonization of digital security in the public administration, a necessary condition to offer homogeneous security levels and improve the protection of citizens' data.
