The Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has signed a contract for two AW139 intermediate helicopters. The aircraft, which will be delivered by the end of the 2015, will be assigned to the Bangladesh Air Force to carry out maritime search and rescue operations (SAR) and other utility missions.
The agreement, which also includes a complete support and training package, allows the establishment of the first helicopter fleet dedicated to maritime SAR in the Asian country.
