Indra has signed a framework agreement with the Spanish Ministry of Defense that distinguishes the multinational as a reference company for the maintenance of the terminal of the Spanish Military Satellite Communications System (SECOMSAT).
This agreement establishes the terms to request the maintenance services of the SECOMSAT system for a maximum amount of 42,8 million euros over the next three years, with the possibility of renewal for another three years.
The framework agreement is divided into three lots, corresponding to the different types of systems that integrate the communications network. Indra was chosen as the only one to be awarded on two lots (1 and 2), while on the third it was selected by RTI with Telefónica.
The SECOMSAT network systems are used by the Spanish Ministry of Defense units, the three armed forces and theMilitary Emergency Unit (UME).
The activities that Indra will carry out will include support work, from preventive maintenance and repair to the supply of engineering work, aimed at ensuring the development of the terminals and incorporating technological advances.
The company will also be responsible for adapting the systems to the environmental conditions of the missions and the required operational requirements. This will involve the introduction of new features and the improvement of existing ones. The main objective is to achieve maximum system availability, ensuring their operation.
