Minister Trenta at the Road Show in Brazil

Defense Minister Elisabetta Trenta took part in the road show - Brazil, an initiative launched by Fincantieri aimed at involving the country's industry, to promote the creation and development of related industries in the chain of local and national small and medium-sized enterprises. The road show started today from the city of Recife, where Fincantieri's Vard Promar shipyard is based.

Last October Fincantieri was selected in the short list of competitors for the tender promoted by the Brazilian Navy, worth approximately 1,6 billion euros, for the construction of 4 class corvettes Tamandaré, which should end next March with the selection of the construction site.

Brazil is a historic partner for Italian investors, international industrial relations are essential for the recovery of competitiveness and profitability and for improving the quality of service, with the aim of protecting jobs and people. Fincantieri represents one of the excellence of Made in Italy. In this context, the Fincantieri / Leonardo / Vard proposal in the "Tamandaré" Corvette program aims to transfer investments, technologies and know-how to Brazil in the coming years, with consequent professional training and new jobs for Brazilians, generating at the at the same time important multiplying effects on the related industries of the naval sector, said the Minister of Defense during his speech.

The next stages of the Road Show will be the 30 in Rio de Janeiro and the 6 February in Sao Paulo.
