Finmeccanica signs the contract for the supply of 28 Eurofighter Typhoon to Kuwait

The Ministry of Defense of Kuwait and Finmeccanica, responsible for the consortium Euro Fighter of the Kuwait commercial campaign, they signed today the contract for the supply of 28 Eurofighter aircraft Typhoon that will be made in Italy. The signature, which is part of the framework of the intergovernmental agreement signed earlier, took place in the presence of Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti and her Kuwaiti counterpart, he Shaikh gen. The contract signed by Finmeccanica also includes supplies in the sectors of logistics, operational support and training of flight crews and ground staff, which will be carried out in collaboration with the Italian Air Force. The agreement includes the upgrade of the infrastructures in Kuwait necessary for the operation of the aircraft.

The Eurofighters for Kuwait, in the most advanced configuration, will be equipped with the innovative E-Scan Radar (electronic scanning radar) developed by the European consortium EuroRADAR, led by Finmeccanica.

The contract with Kuwait, signed at the end of an in-depth evaluation phase extended to other aircraft of the same category Eurofighter, is part of a broad and consolidated partnership between the Italian defense ministries and the Gulf country, able to further strengthen the collaboration between the two nations and the other European member countries of the consortium (United Kingdom, Germany and Spain).
