Significant affirmation on the commercial market for the new generation AgustaWestland helicopter family: the Finmeccanica company has in fact signed a contract worth approximately 110 million (US $ 125 million) for eleven aircraft with Lease Corporation International (LCI), one of the most important international companies active in the field of aeronautical leasing.
The agreement concerns a mix of AW169, AW139 and AW189 models belonging to the AgustaWestland family of new generation helicopters.
The aircraft, destined for offshore transport, search and rescue and air ambulance missions, will be delivered by LCI to end customers between 2015 and 2016.
This agreement further increases the orders of new generation AgustaWestland helicopters by LCI which, according to previous contracts, has already received several copies, including AW139 and AW189, from the Finmeccanica company.
LCI and end customers will benefit from the commonality benefits offered by the AW139, AW169 and AW189 family, models that share features including high performance, safety levels, cockpit and design philosophy.
