Finmeccanica: year-end contracts in all business sectors

End of the year marked by new contracts for the Finmeccanica Group; in the last few days of 2014, four important agreements were signed which concerned all areas of the Group's activity.

In aeronautics, on December 22nd Finmeccanica-Alenia Aermacchi signed a contract, worth 120 million euros, with the General Directorate of Aeronautical Armaments (ARMAEREO) for the supply to the Italian Air Force of a further three advanced training aircraft M -346, of the ground training system and related logistic support.

In the helicopter sector, Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland, thanks to an agreement signed last December 29, will supply 2025 AW160 civil helicopters to oil company Rosneft by 189. The supply will mainly take place through HeliVert, a joint venture formed by the Italian company and Russian Helicopters (a company controlled by the industrial group Rostec). Helivert will provide for the final assembly (at its factory in Tomilino, near Moscow) of the equipment that will be supplied by AgustaWestland. The agreement also provides for the provision of integrated services (maintenance and training) for customers in Russia and in CIS countries. With the supply of 160 civil helicopters, Rosneft will become the largest AW189 customer in the world.

In Defense and Security Electronics, on 30 December Finmeccanica-Selex ES, the leader of an industrial grouping, announced the award of a European tender announced by ENAV (national flight assistance body) for the design and the implementation of the new control system for all national air traffic (4-Flight Program) which will replace the current one within nine years. The contract is worth approximately 206 million euros.

In the Transportation sector, Ansaldo STS, a Finmeccanica company, announced last December 31 that it will build the driverless and unmanned train protection, supervision and control system of the new line 4 of the Milan Metro. Ansaldo STS will supply and install the signaling and automation systems, the power supply systems, the passenger protection doors on the quay, the entrance gates, the machines for the sale of tickets, the maintenance systems and, with the collaboration of Sirti, the telecommunication systems. The total contractual value for Ansaldo STS is approximately 265 million euros.
