Finmeccanica: location for India helicopters closed

29/07/14

Finmeccanica announces that the Public Prosecutor of Busto Arsizio has ordered the dismissal of the proceeding against him regarding the supply of 12 AW101 VVIP helicopters to the Indian Government, the subject of 2010 agreements.

Indeed, the Public Prosecutor acknowledged, on the one hand, the extraneous nature of Finmeccanica with respect to the disputed facts and, on the other, that Finmeccanica, since the 2003, has adopted - and, subsequently, constantly updated - an organizational, management and control model suitable to prevent crimes of the same kind as the disputed one, paying great attention also to compliance aspects, in order to guarantee adequate standards of correctness and ethics.

In addition, AgustaWestland SpA and its English subsidiary AgustaWestland Ltd., together with the Public Prosecutor, have decided to request the application of administrative fines of a limited financial nature against them, also confirming the effectiveness of the respective control systems and the substantial extraneousness with respect to the hypothesized cases of corruption disputed by the Public Prosecutor. Therefore any admission of debit by the two companies is excluded.

The two companies made this decision based on the radical reorganization of the Finmeccanica Group, based on the desire to focus on business activities and fully grasp the full potential of the market.
