Finmeccanica announces the start of the final assembly phase of the first two Aermacchi M-346 destined for the Polish Air Force, with a ceremony attended by the General Commander of the Polish Armed Forces, gen. Miroslaw Rozanski, Brigadier General Tomasz Drewniak, Inspector of the Air Force, and Colonel Paweł Smereka, Commander of the XNUMxesima air training base, welcomed by the Head of Finmeccanica's Aircraft Division, Filippo Bagnato.

The delivery of the first two M-346 to the Polish Air Force, produced at the Aircraft division plant in Venegono Superiore (VA), is scheduled for the end of November 2016, in line with the schedule of the program.

The contract for the supply of 8 M-346 advancing trainers, replacing the currently operating TS-11 Iskra, was signed in February 2014 with the Polish Ministry of Defense.

The agreement also includes a state-of-the-art ground training system, with dedicated classrooms and teaching materials, logistic support and a training program for pilots and engineers. The ground training also includes the "Full Mission Simulator", the latest generation simulator able to replicate every possible operating scenario and which can also be connected to the aircraft during flight training missions, allowing students to pilot simulate training flights or joint tactical missions.

The M-346 trainer is already in service with the air forces of Italy, Israel and the Republic of Singapore, for a total, including Poland, of 59 ordered aircraft.
