Finmeccanica, through the Avionics and Space Systems division, has signed a contract with Aptronics PTE Ltd, based in Singapore, to provide the SEER radar alert receiver to the Indonesian Air Force. The SEER is a self-protection system that identifies and identifies potential radar threats and alerts pilots.

The SEER will be installed on light multi-role combat aircraft Mk.209 Hawk of the Indonesian Air Force, guaranteeing pilots a greater level of safety. The contract involves the installation on aircraft currently in service and includes the option to supply additional systems in the future.

This result comes following the recent success with the selection of the SG200-D radar alert receivers, a specific variant of the SEER family of products for the United Kingdom, which offer a radar alert capability for the Puma and Chinook fleet of Royal Air Force. The SEER has also been highly appreciated during the trial during NATO's recent tactical leadership program. The system was integrated into two L-159 advanced light multi-role combat aircraft of the Czech Air Force in less than three hours, accurately identifying air, land and sea threats at significant distances and with a high degree of accuracy, operating to 100% reliability during the year.

As a European leader in electronic protection, Finmeccanica supports every SEER system with a series of operational support services coordinated by a team of dedicated experts (Electronic Warfare Operational Support - EWOS). The reduced dimensions and weight, and the energy characteristics of the SEER system ensure its adaptability to a wide range of new or modernization programs, including fixed and rotary wing platforms and remotely piloted aircraft.
