Finmeccanica: accepted requests for the conclusion of India case

In relation to the procedure concerning the supply of 12 AW101 VVIP helicopters to the Indian Government subject to 2010 agreements, Finmeccanica announces that the Judge for Preliminary Investigations (GIP) of the Court of Busto Arsizio (Varese) accepted the requests made last year 25 July by the subsidiaries AgustaWestland SpA and AgustaWestland Ltd, together with the Public Prosecutor.

The GIP therefore applied a pecuniary administrative fine equal to 80.000 euro to AgustaWestland SpA, while a pecuniary administrative fine equal to 300.000 euro was applied to AgustaWestland Ltd as well as the confiscation of a sum equal to 7,5 million euro.

As is known, the 25 last July, the Public Prosecutor of Busto Arsizio had, moreover, ordered the dismissal of the proceeding against Finmeccanica, recognizing, on the one hand, the extraneousness of the company to the disputed facts and, on the other , that the company, since 2003, has adopted a model of organization, management and control suitable to prevent crimes of the same type as the disputed one, paying attention also to the aspects of compliance, in order to guarantee adequate standards of correctness and ethics.
