For this reason, as was also asked by the National Trade Unions in the press release of the FIM-FIOM-UILM Secretariats dated 12 March, the company decided to suspend production activities at the Group's Italian sites from 16 to 29 March, placing them at their disposal. the closure with recourse to collective holidays, anticipating them with respect to enjoyment in the usual summer period.

This decision was made in the awareness that the suspension of activities for a period of 14 days is consistent with the indications imposed by the health authorities regarding quarantine in order to reduce the possibility of contagion, respond to government restriction measures, as well as allow all workers to implement adequate behavior to deal with the emergency.

The method adopted, to normalize the situation, would allow to share "belly on the ground" to safeguard the future of the company and the country and, moreover, will not result in an economic loss for workers.

Only in this way, without any real sacrifice with respect to Italy's state of emergency, can we not jeopardize our future, safeguard the company's operational continuity, maintain employment levels and the credibility earned by Fincantieri with its national customers and abroad and the latter will be able to find insurance, in a normalized situation, that subsequent deliveries will be respected by fulfilling the contract deadlines.
