Boeing will continue its support for the US Army of the H-47 Chinook rotor blades, thanks to a new contract from 160 million dollars.
The five-year performance-based logistics agreement extends the work already begun in the 2012 and provides for the ongoing management of stock availability and revision of all Chinook blades for the US Army. Boeing is responsible for maintaining rotor blades, repairing and overhauling them, as well as developing alternative ways to save blades that would normally be removed from service. The US Army Chinooks are more than 450 in the world.
"Chinook has proven to be critical to the broad spectrum of US Army missions and supporting its availability is key to ensuring Chinook's readiness to operate," commented Kathleen Jolivette, director of US Army Services at Boeing Global Services. "With our proven track record and experience, we expect to work together with our customers to reduce ownership costs and extend blade life for mission success."
