Boeing has obtained a contract from 139,8 million dollars for the supply of four helicopters Chinook MH-47G Block II al Command for Special Aeronautical Operations of the American army.
"The Army uses the MH-47G for some of its most difficult and demanding missions"Said Pat Donnelly, director of the H-47 Domestic and Foreign Military Sale programs. "By adding key Block II features we are able to significantly extend service life, improve performance and keep the Chinook as the world's top special operations helicopter.".
These helicopters mark the beginning of a production cycle Block II whose enlargement is expected at the end of the 2020.
The Army has 69 MH-47G helicopters Chinook. Simultaneously with the improvements on the MH-47G, Boeing is developing a configuration Block II for the Chinook CH-47F of the American Army.
