It seems now only a matter of time. While the bombardment of the Russian and Syrian air forces continues on the Islamist fortifications in the metropolitan area of Aleppo still under rebel control, 102 infantrya Republican Guard Brigade, they would advance in these hours to the extreme eastern outskirts of the city, in the Hanano district. The news would follow those of the recapture of Jabl Badro, a neighboring district still in the eastern part of Aleppo.
Meanwhile, from the General Staff of Damascus, the creation of a fifth Army Corps was confirmed on the basis of the new recruits enrolled in recent months. To the three structural Corps of the army, in October of the 2015 a fourth had already been added, operating in the north east of the country. The 5 Corps will have a training base in Qatana, 30 km southwest of Damascus, not far from the Lebanese border.
This new phase of reinvigoration of the Syrian Armed Forces is linked to the news coming from Egypt, where the President Al Sisi has confirmed the support to Assad (and to Haftar in Libya, nda ...), in order to neutralize the Islamic State in every form of it. In this regard, we highlight the military campaign in Cairo which has been underway for several weeks now to reclaim the Sinai from Islamist presences.
Waiting for tangible proof of the new US course in the Middle East, foreseen by the 2017, the grip against fundamentalist (and moderate) rebels tightens further.
