85 will be the British soldiers engaged in the supervision of a new fringe of militants destined to fight in Syria against the forces of the Islamic State.

The bases for operational training, as reported by the August 3 since Telegraph, will be in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. No other details are disclosed.

In the dispatch, the London government made no reference to Damascus and to President Assad, suggesting that the militia will in all probability not have the approval of the Syrian government.

It remains to be seen whether the "new rebels" will actually be engaged against the fundamentalists of the Caliphate or whether at the same time they will be added to the list of 100 and more groups that from the 2011 have declared war in Damascus.
