Idlib Media Center (BMI), an information and propaganda body close to the Syrian opposition, allegedly gave an attack by the Russian Navy in the Idlib Governorate.

To support the news, militiamen of Jaysh Al Fateh (Army of Conquest) Sunday 13 November they would have filmed a Russian MiG 29K flying over their posts. The video was then rebounded by Arab newspapers.

The jet would be one of the 20 supplied with the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov which crosses in these hours off the Syrian coast and would give proof of the opening of a new military page in the Syrian war.

The Idlib Governorate, on the border with Turkey, is located halfway between the Syrian coast and the Aleppo Governorate. The liberation of the second Syrian city, at the center of the attempt to reconquer by Assad's forces in the north of the country, also passes by the reclamation of its territories. Not by chance since the beginning of the 2016 the offensive of the loyalist forces started from the Governorate of Latakia, has triggered a season of continuous bloody clashes with the Islamist militants present in force throughout the Idlib region. Next objective would be the important center of Jisr Al Shugur, on the n.4 motorway line, around which practically the entire northwestern front rotates.

Reference of the fundamentalist rebels in the area is Jaysh al Fatah, a confederation of radical terrorist groups born in the 2015, and active mainly in the north west of Syria.

Born with the support of Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, theArmy of Conquest in March, 2015 became the protagonist of the taking of Idlib and of the whole mountainous belt near the Turkish border. Formed by elements from the former Al Nusra, from Ahrar al Sham, from groups of transnational Sunni terrorists, pro-Turkish jihadists and in collaboration with Fatah Halab and Free Syrian Army, in recent months it has suffered significant setbacks during the offensive for the liberation of Aleppo.

In the coming weeks, a showdown is expected between Syrian troops and fundamentalists, which will probably begin with the Russian naval initiative supporting Damascus.
