The offensive against Boko Haram takes place

Great offensive against Boko Haram by the FMM (Force Multinationale Mixte) which unites the troops of Niger, Benin, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon committed along the shores of Lake Chad to neutralize the Islamist terrorists.

The offensive is a response to the repeated attacks by fundamentalists against civilians and the military in the area of ​​the large African lake covering 4 cross-border areas.

The offensive, officially started on Monday 25 July, was brought forward to stem the business of Boko Haram recently renewed with great enthusiasm.

The pincer movement along the entire perimeter of the lake basin, as well as important departments of the Nigerian army, are attended by 4.000 soldiers from Chad (considered together with those of Burkina Faso, the best equipped and trained of the countries of the area), 3.000 and Nigeria 2.000 Cameroonians with a large support of armored vehicles, artillery and air cover.

In the intentions of the Nigerian general Lamidi Adeosun, commander of the FMM, there would be the definitive elimination of pockets of Islamist insurgency at the eastern border with Niger.
