Il Movement for Justice and Rehabilitation of Niger (MJRN) is ready to take up arms against the central power of Niamey.

According to the proclamations of the current leader Koudigan, at the base of the discontent is the serious state of oppression to which the Tubu ethnic group would be subjected.

The Tubu live in the Sahara straddling Niger, Chad and Libya in conditions that are nothing short of dramatic.

Despite the appeals launched in recent months, it seems that the demands of the Southeast regions have remained unheard, increasing the risk of armed revolt.

The increasingly visible presence of the China National Petroleum Corporation in central Africa it would be among the main reasons for the new strong tensions inside Niger. The reckless exploitation of the soil with related ecological implications would have fueled the moodiness of the Tubu, ready to attack the Nigerian institutions "At any time".

The news itself would not shake international public opinion were it not that Niger, like Chad, Cameroon, Nigeria and Mali is directly involved in the work of damming Islamic extremism. Precisely the regions affected by the armed rebellion border the Nigerian states of Borno, Yobe and Jigawa where the work of Boko Haram often coincides with total control of the territory.

The figure is worrying. They need Sahara and Sahel for everything, except for an increase in the circulation of weapons.
