Libya: Islamic militias (supported by the Turks) launch a counter-offensive south of Tripoli

While President Erdoğan waits for the (discounted) pronouncement of the Ankara parliament, regarding al-Sarraj's requests for military support, the Turkish Air Force, with its A-400M aircraft, are transporting hundreds of jihadist militants to Tripoli ( belonging to Islamic fundamentalist groups that fought in Syria, such as Jabhat al-Nusra and Isis-Daesh).

General Haftar's forces seem to have arrived just 300 meters from the central districts of Tripoli, after taking control of the road to the airport, as the Libyan National Army spokesman, Major General Ahned al-Mismari said.

He also added "We have had great success in the last hours, after adopting a strategy of attrition towards the militias, before entering the last phase of the battle for Tripoli".

Given the situation on the ground, the Turks have decided to send the expert Islamic militias, waiting to be able to support them even with heavy armaments. So the situation is far from resolved.

It is now clear that there can be no diplomatic solution to the Libyan war, we will probably find a reissue of the caliphate a few hundred km from our coasts, supported and equipped by Ankara (as happened in Syria).

All this is happening with the guilty silence of our policy, unable to pronounce let alone propose solutions.
