Aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman involved in collision at sea

The aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) Nimitz-class submarine was involved in a collision with the merchant vessel Besiktas-M at approximately 23:46 p.m. local time on February 12, while operating near Port Said, Egypt, in the Mediterranean Sea.

The collision did not endanger theHarry S. Truman (CVN 75) as there are no reports of flooding or injuries.

The propulsion systems are not affected and are in safe and stable condition.

The accident is under investigation.
