The fall of Sirte? In Libya Haftar even approaches Misrata, while preparing a counter-offensive ...

The chatter is zero. While the news reports speak of the capture of Sirte by the forces of the Libyan National Army (LNA) in Haftar, Online Defense is able to communicate that in these hours the clash is far beyond Sirte: the LNA has taken As Saddadah, little more than an oasis on a desert plateau but at just over a hundred kilometers from Misurata and above all check the road from the coast to Abugrein, in the Al-washka area, almost ninety kilometers west (mind you: in the direction of Misurata) of Sirte.

The rumors of an imminent counter-offensive on Sirte by pro-Sarraj forces so-called "Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos" (in Arabic, "impenetrable wall") that intensified in September 2016 cleaned up the same city from ISIS cutthroats, with the support of the special forces of the United States, the United Kingdom and ... Italy. On that occasion, Daesh lost almost all of the 2.500 men with whom he kept Sirte, leaving just 87 prisoners.

The LNA, meanwhile, shows the world a Turkish-made armored vehicle (photo), a sign that not today Ankara supports the GNA.

We will keep you posted.
