Sultan Erdogan takes the Mediterranean, while the Conte government assists impassively

Ankara goes to the collection with al-Sarraj's pseudo-government for its support against General Haftar.

With an economic / energy agreement with Tripoli, Turkish president Erdogan is redefining maritime borders - ignoring the territorial claims of Cyprus and, de facto, excluding the island of Crete from the geographical map - to grab the Mediterranean areas rich in natural gas .

The stipulated agreement contains elements of demarcation of the Exclusive Economic Zone (where the Tap and Eastmed gas pipelines will pass) between Turkey and Libya, causing a rift between Greece and the neighboring areas of Cyprus and Egypt.

As has long been known, al-Sarraj, whose authority is recognized by international organizations, survives thanks to the Misurata militias, controlled and armed by the Ankara government. Moreover, the latter does not stop expressing its ambiguity, indirectly supporting the Islamic State still active in the North African country.

Turkey, therefore, is preparing to expand its influence over the entire eastern Mediterranean, claiming all the submarine gas and oil fields, thus excluding ENI, which certainly cannot make use of the support of the Rome government.

The Count-led Executive is absent, with a Ministry of Foreign Affairs incapable of elaborating a strategy aimed at blocking Erdogan's expansionism.

Foreign Minister Di Maio, during a recent meeting with his Libyan colleague (from the al-Sarraj government), reiterated that "there is no military solution to the Libyan crisis". Instead, the solution to the ongoing war can only pass through military victory of one or the other party.
