Syria continues to be talked about; in fact it has never stopped any activity worthy of reporting, but international relations and a well-directed publicity campaign have led to the new masters of Damascus being considered worthy of the highest esteem, thanks to a leader who, having put aside his camouflage, has found a worthy international position with a suit and tie. politically correctIt's a shame we didn't delve deeper into a not so distant past that, in Idlib, they will never forget.

Syria is under pressure from Israel, which is concerned with the Golan Heights and the protection of the Druze community, and remains at the center of trade that sees the captagon as a catalyst for interests of various figures. Syria is also the object of unveiled attention from Ankara, while Caucasian and Asian fighters rage, unleashing decades-old hatreds now left free. Alawites and former government officials are the object of indiscriminate hunting, while the UN has not yet taken a position and while Jolani warns the next potential victims but does not stop the jihadists' hunt.

The government assures that summary executions must be traced back to individual actions not coordinated with the security forces; it is a pity that the lines within which the militias must be framed have not yet been defined; militias arrived in Latakia to participate in a repression that increasingly seems like ethnic cleansing.

Many things are jarring, and the absence of a West refractory to Syrian victims of all ages and the inanity of international institutions stand out.
