From Australia, fundamentalism re-launches: "For Christmas, we must stand out from the Christians!"

Right on the day of the attack on the Christmas market in Germany, reinforcements arrive from the other side of the globe. The head imam of Sydney's Lakemba mosque said the fatwa against anyone joining the Christmas celebrations.

"So that we do not leave the right path ..." specified Sheikh Yahya Safi, leader of the Islamic community in the western suburbs of the Australian city "Muslims must not participate in any title at the party", hinting that it is blasphemous to say goodbye to the 25 December as well.

Il Sydney Morning reported the indignant reaction to the words of the preacher of many members of the Australian Islamic community who, however, have remained under observation in the country for some years. Precisely in Sydney, in December 2014, an Islamic extremist had made three deaths after barricading himself in a bar. The gesture was the latest in a series of episodes of private violence practiced against Christian women by self-styled avant-garde jihadists, in turn the engine of strong social resentment against Muslim communities.

Australia has been targeted several times by Islamist preaching above all for its ostentatious choice to defend Christian values. The voice has often been raised from Lakemba, the Sydney area with its 4 mosques considered the most Islamic in the country. Former Premier Tony Abbott, predecessor of the current conservative leader Turnbull, was also heavily criticized by the Western media for calling Australia "Christian country" and for the choice to tighten immigration policies especially against Asian countries with an Islamic majority.
