Review of the new Navy aircraft simulator for mobile devices

In the sky and at sea with the new Italian software house simulator Rortos, for years engaged in the realization of flight simulators for mobile devices. Available on Play store e Apple store, the new Rortos simulator with a license from the Italian Navy has arrived freely, allowing us to be virtually in command of both airplanes and helicopters, as well as naval vessels of our navy.

Gameplay

The game gives us the possibility to either fly freely planes or explore naval means, for the simple taste of enjoying the sensations of a simulated flight or of a fitting on an aircraft carrier. Whether participating in real missions with different types of objectives (search and rescue, reconnaissance and rescue at sea, emergency evacuation, patrolling and air defense, release Comsubin raiders, transport injured and more ...) set in scenarios carefully rebuilt with satellite technology to guarantee a gaming experience as real as possible, such as the ports of La Spezia, Catania or Taranto. In each of these 3 locations will be available both different missions and different aero-naval units such as the destroyer Andrea Doria D553, the aircraft carrier Cavour or aircraft like the AV-8B fighter Harrier II +, or helicopters like the EH101. All engaged in heterogeneous situations that will allow the user to identify with the men and women of the Navy, trying on the field the main means and activities that the latter find themselves experiencing every day.

Technical notes

The program is really well done both from the graphic point of view above the average of the "mobile" titles, and below that of the gameplay. The units are controlled by a mix of easy-to-understand screen buttons and smartphone gyroscope. The physics of the media is well reproduced and graphics and textures are really well done together with detailed satellite maps. However, the level of detail such as the sensitivity of the controls are freely modifiable to adapt better to different types of hardware. Weather conditions are also modifiable, from a clear sky to a stormy sea, with the possibility of using the current ones based on the weather in real time. Of course all this has a price that translates into some micro-lag or some small shot if the goco runs on low-end or medium-low hardware with levels of details set to maximum, but are small stoppages that never compromise the general usability of the simulation.

Final judgement

Broadly promoted title, aero-naval simulation with some really tasty treats like the possibility of navigating and exploring the glorious school ship Amerigo Vespucci. Or the compatibility with VR technology cardboard (virtual reality) that totally immerses in the simulation, giving emotions and sensations unique to the player. Sun sore the in-app stores. The missions free are limited, even if sufficient to evaluate the gameplay of the title on your smartphone, the remaining missions are to be purchased at the price of 2,99 for each operating scenario, or 6,99 for all the available locations, thus saving something. In my opinion, an investment to do to fully enjoy a title whose simulative qualities do not seem recognizable in many other products of the panorama mobile devices.
