Military and civilian workers from the Decimomannu base in "mobilization" together with the mayors

26/01/16

On Friday 29 January from 9 at the social center in via Aldo Moro of the municipality of Decimomannu the mayors of the neighboring municipalities organized an assembly / demonstration to support the workers of the military base of Decimomannu at closure risk to talk about the future of this important center cheap.

The same morning a meeting will be held at the military airport between the military personnel and the base representation in which I will participate as National Delegate of the Cocer Interforze.

Even the military they are worried about their future because if the airport were to be resized or even to close the risk of transfers it could become a sad reality.

I will participate as a citizen in this event and invite everyone to do so, free from the service and not in uniform as required by military rules. We are citizens too and we have the right to participate according to the rules.

We need a strong awareness of the Sardinian society that this time is allowing the theft of important projects of industrial and technological development to the advantage of other Italian regions such as Sicily and Puglia.

The Decimomannu military airport cannot be converted to civilian use because its vocation is military from over 55 years.

Anyone who thinks that Sardinia can live on tourism alone is a delusion and the meager regional funding for the tourism sector proves it.

The president of the Pigliaru region immediately opens a table with the Defense, local administrators and social partners to discuss a defense industry sustainability plan for the next twenty years free from preconceptions and ideologies that have held Sardinia firm up to now watching others develop and move forward.

It is the only way to save jobs and possibly guarantee others.
