Fincantieri Muggiano when the raise?

29/03/16

As Cisl and Fim of La Spezia we express concern about the de-skilling status of the Muggiano shipyard pursued by Fincantieri.

The transformation announced by the CEO Bono of the organizational and productive dynamics of Fincantieri is not taking place, the time of work reduction is not used to implement the necessary investments and there is no redevelopment training for the shipyard workers.

What we can see is that the integration between Riva and Muggiano exists in practice only on paper, while we are sure that if really organized integration could bring real added value to the activities of both yards.

There are still major problems in organizing work and to make up for it, it relies beyond the real needs, with the result that the yard over the years has been emptied of the professionalism necessary to keep the production site on important workloads such as those expected for Fincantieri's military sector .

In a difficult period like the one the group is going through, we would expect a re-launch of the construction site so as not to find ourselves unprepared and undersized compared to the needs.

The famous re-internalization of core activities and the development of professionalism and the necessary plans for employment remain today beautiful words but empty in the real practical developments.

There is growing concern that Fincantieri's strategy for the Muggiano is aimed at keeping internal potential low to then be able to contract most of the work, under the guise of little production capacity.

We would not want to run into a strategy that leads to the easy saturation of the integrated construction site because it is unproductive or undersized in favor of moving activities. The Italian Navy ships paid with taxpayers' money with naval law appropriations must be produced in Italy and mainly on the integrated construction site, developing industrial logics of productive enhancement. We also reiterate the strategic importance of the POLO of Defense with Finmeccanica and Base Navale Arsenale MM
