Interview with Admiral Felicio Angrisano, commanding general of the Port Authority Corps - Coast Guard

(To Andrea Cucco)
29/10/15

2015 will have been a long and demanding year for the Port Authorities. Numerous interventions at sea, the intense institutional activities linked to the numerous ministries on which they depend, from that of infrastructure and transport to that of the environment, from that of agricultural, food and forestry policies to that of defense.

During this period many episodes of maritime news have raised doubts and perplexities among readers: many have asked for explanations on the presence off the Libyan coast of our Coast Guard and there are also those who have gone so far, with sometimes sarcastic tones, to ask if the units of the Corps of the Harbor Offices were suitable to face the smugglers when the latter took back a boat with the threat of weapons.

Certainly the previous years were not easy with a proceeding of the judiciary still in progress for the collapse in the 2013 of the Pilots Tower of the port of Genoa.

During this year we have repeatedly tried to interview the commander of the Corps, Admiral Angrisano, not so much for having institutional answers similar to those provided by the press office, but to appease souls and tones in the discussions on social of the newspaper. We have published some of the letters that we have received from you readers and the last in chronological order, that of Giuseppe Corrado, provoked the reply direct and piqued by the admiral. Today the handover took place between Admiral Felicio Angrisano and his successor, Admiral Vincenzo Melone. Last night the commander general of the Port Authority Corps - Coast Guard kindly granted us the long-awaited interview.

Good vision!
