General Davide Re, currently DCOS PLANS of the Supreme Command of Allied Forces Europe (SHAPE), boasts a long and prestigious career in the Italian Air Force and in the Atlantic Alliance.

With over 2.700 flight hours on six different aircraft, he has held significant operational and strategic roles: from command of the Joint Air Task Force in Afghanistan to leadership of the NATO Strategic Direction – South Hub in Naples, through key positions at the Air Force General Staff and at US CENTCOM.

We met him last month to delve deeper into the meaning of a military Alliance that is often talked about, but that few really know. An organization that is not “other” than us: every Italian soldier, every day, is a full member of it and contributes 24 hours a day to its mission of deterrence, collective defense and international stability. Good vision!
