The historical museum of the Vig di Valle vineyard

A few kilometers from Rome, on the wonderful shores of Lake Bracciano, there is a treasure chest for over a century of flying jewels: the historical museum of the Air Force of Vigna di Valle.

From the first wooden and canvas aircraft to the most recent tornadoes and Amxes, you can admire a century of history in absolute peace (except for schoolchildren).

Thanks to the availability of the blue weapon and the hospitality of the museum director, ten.col. Pierluigi Poletti, Difesa Online was able to visit the installation where some of the same hangars represent a piece of history.

It is impossible, by reviewing the aircraft, with stories of hopes, opportunities, mistakes, underestimations, choices made in peace time and then paid in a conflict, not thinking about today's discussions on F35.

When in fifty years will be exposed to Vigna di Valle what will tell of the plane that is so much debated?

Waste of money or means that saved many lives, colossal flop or avant-garde jet that made a difference?

Good vision!
