Venice Boat Show 2021: the Navy opens the historic Arsenale to the public

"Naval Art returns home", this is the slogan of the second edition of the Venice Boat Show scheduled at the Arsenale from 29 May to 6 June 2021.

The event, organized by the municipality of the lagoon city in collaboration with the Navy, will be held in full compliance with the containment measures envisaged to counter the health emergency from Covid-19, providing for guests with compulsory reservations and contingent admissions.

Within the historical context of the Arsenale, more than 50 boats will be hosted in its 220 thousand square meters of water basin and in the 35 thousand square meters of the exhibition spaces, on the other hand, the presence of 160 exhibitors from the nautical industry and the recreational accessories.

The extensive program of the Boat Show also includes shows, water tests, presentations and moments dedicated to in-depth studies on tourist ports, design and innovation, environmental issues and safety at sea.

To underline the great bond and the centuries-old tradition that binds Venice to the Navy, the historic Arsenal, spaces and ponds, an ancient fortress and naval base in the heart of the city will be open to the public.

The inauguration will see, among other things, the active participation of the operational departments with an air launch of our raiders from a Navy helicopter.

The Navy also ensured the presence on site of various naval units, together with the operational availability of surveillance of the military areas of a platoon of riflemen of the marine brigade Saint Mark and that of a representation of the divers of the GOS for surveillance activities of the arsenalic bodies of water.

In addition, the specialized components of the armed force will be represented inside the stand by the Navy: raiders, pilots, submariners and divers, ready to illustrate to the public the fascinating profession they carry out through the many activities in which they are daily engaged.

Nine days will therefore be dedicated to the sea, maritime culture, naval architecture and the nautical industry, all in the name of environmental sustainability, the economic relaunch of shipbuilding production, which will project the city of Venice into an event from wide international scope.
