NATO: Minister Crosetto in Brussels for the Atlantic Council of Defense Ministers

The Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, participated, yesterday and today in Brussels, in the Atlantic Council of Defense Ministers, at the NATO headquarters, in the presence of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"We reiterated the need for NATO to take an interest not only in the Eastern front but also in the Southern front. Italy has expressed its desire for this interest to find a formal commitment during the next Washington summit with the establishment of a body that will deal with the problems of the Southern Front. It is necessary to work today to avoid having to do so when these problems become more serious in a few years."

Thus the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto on the sidelines of the NATO ministerial.

Yesterday, in the meeting with the US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, Minister Crosetto stated: "An opportunity for a cordial exchange of views with our friend and colleague Lloyd, US Secretary of Defense. Italy and the United States share the same values ​​and historical ties. We must work together to face global challenges".

During the event, Minister Crosetto signed the letter of intent, as part of the "Armoured Capability Coalition for Ukraine" initiative. This agreement aims to strengthen the defense and protection of the population and critical infrastructure, increasing the capability of the Ukrainian armored forces in the land domain.

At the end of yesterday's session, Minister Crosetto participated in a bilateral meeting with the Polish Minister of Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. During the meeting, great interest was expressed in the collaboration between the Armed Forces and cooperation within the defense industry, with particular reference to the EU integrated air defense system.
